This was my first project based on King-sand Caw-sand's cove in Cornwall where my Grandad grew up. I decided to do this as my grandad is a big inspiration to me and i adored the serene little village he came from when i went to visit that easter. Pricilla Jone's work influenced this piece.
During my first few months in Sixth Form we went on a trip to Rouche Court, Sculpture Park, where Peter-Randall Page & Richard Long's sculptures inspired me. Whilst Researching i discovered Tessa Horrocks who also influenced my choices as you can see in my research boards below.
This is my most recent and completed project on my Grandad's Garden. My work for this project is mainly inspired by textilist Janet Brown and Chloe Rafferty. I chose my Grandad's garden as i wanted to incorpriate his shed and greenhouse and what it meant to him.
I am currently working on this new project, researching the cultural history of art. Looking at artist such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Paco Rabanne and era's in art such as The Stone age, etc... To be continued.
ABOUT
I am a A-level student at Bayhouse Sixth Form, i study English Lit & Lang, Sociology and Art, craft & design. Art is my key focus as i wish to pursue this as a carer and extend my skills at university. I've always had a passion for art however recently i have came to the conclusion that i should begin sharing my ideas with the world.
I have been involved in many projects throughout the years, however i am only putting my college projects on here, Surface, Pattern & Texture, Rouche Court, Outbuildings, History of art. Throughout these i have practiced in, painting, drawing, clay, weave, print, sew. My most preferred technique is sewing as i believe you can draw with the machine creating complex textured, patterned, designs.
